It also sits near the Free State border, so members there often browse towards Bloemfontein — around 170 kilometres, which by Northern Cape standards is close. Upington anchors the north, with Kathu, Kuruman and Postmasburg in the mining belt around it.

Colesberg and De Aar sit on the N1 between Gauteng and Cape Town, and members in those towns are accustomed to meeting people passing through rather than people who live nearby.
